2025 Club Championships
All Centres
Our annual Club Championships are fast approaching. There is no requirement for students to compete in Karate tournaments, but they are a fantastic way to test your skills and develop both confidence and resilience. We run our tournament each year to give the students an easy and friendly way of trying out Karate competition surrounded by the Instructors and students that they already know. We also use the event as a fundraiser for the students who are members of the Victorian State Karate Team. They traveled to Adelaide earlier in the year and came home with our best ever result at the highest level of competition in the country. Our Kata squad is widely recognised as one of the strongest in the southern hemisphere. Our 4 Kumite athletes also outdid themselves by coming home with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. The Club Championships could turn out to be your first step towards similar levels of success someday.
Entry forms have been sent to all students via email and there are paper forms available at both Dojos. You can compete in Kata, Kumite and Team Kata (synchronised Kata in a group of 3 people). The entry fee is $70 and that gets you into all 3 events. If you are unable to compete on the day then there will be multiple jobs with which you could assist. The Championships are normally a highlight of the year and I look forward to this year’s event being even bigger and better than last year. Good luck with the preparations and ask Instructors to practice in class, so that you can put in your best performance.
